Featuring the largest fleet in the Pacific Northwest, our vessels can accommodate a variety of public and private tours & events. Once you board the ship, you have the option of sitting on the upper deck, or inside in one of the two lower decks. At the time we rode it was October 2021, and we did not feel comfortable spending a lot of time in an enclosed space, so we choose to ride in the upper deck. Seattle's Original Harbor Cruise™ is the quintessential Seattle experience for both locals and tourists alike.

You do not actually see the Space Needle until you are further up North, but tour guide held us in suspense about the iconic building on the Seattle skyline. Instead, he discussed the Queen Anne neighborhood, and where you can see the “view” for Frasier’s apartment. I was disappointed to learn that the building he lived in did not actually exist. Once the ship was fully loaded, the ship pushed off and went North up the Seattle coastline. From here you learned about history of the Seattle Aquarium, the Edgewater hotel, and a particularly funny story about the Beatles Stay, and all about Pike Place Market. Argosy Cruises offers another experience aside from the Harbor Tour, and CityPASS® ticket holders have the option to upgrade.

Ride the boat elevator, see two sides of the Seattle skyline, and feel the breeze off fresh and saltwater. Our Summer Views Cruise is a 1.5-hour cruise of Alki Point, Elliott Bay, and into Puget Sound at the perfect time in the evening to enjoy golden hour. A Tourist’s Guide to Seattle’s Sky View Observatory

Started as the Spring Street Water Taxi, the original owner, loved to talk about his beloved Seattle. He started to talk about the history of Seattle and what you saw on the shoreline as people rode his water taxi. He soon found that people were boarding the taxi simply to listen to his tour and a new idea was born.

Argosy Harbor Cruises will have a trained crewmember accompany every guest on board in a wheelchair. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or looking for a new way to enjoy the city, there’s no better friend to have than Your Friend with a Boat. I often find that tours at the beginning of the trip are a great way to lay the groundwork and understand the city. You get to see it from the sea, but it allows you to get a lay of the land and understand the city before you go exploring. Seattle is truly a seaside city and getting on the water is the best way to get to know it. I highly recommend you not only book a cruise with Argosy, but you also make sure to get it in in one of your first days in Seattle. The accessibility of the cruise sometimes depends in part on which vessel is operating on a given day, as different ships have different levels of accessibility.

Aside from the start of the beautiful Seattle sunset, you’ll cruise out into Elliott Bay from Argosy, passing the Seattle waterfront, Harbor Island, Alki Point, and into Puget Sound where you can see nearby Bainbridge Island. You’ll take in views of the Olympic Mountains and the city skyline, including an incredible look back at the Space Needle. When exploring a new city, I love to get out on a tour right at the beginning of the trip. But when you have a city that is as focused on the waterfront as Seattle, there is only one way to take that tour – it is on the water.

At the Pier 86 Grain Terminal, you turn around traveling south with the shoreline on your left. At this point, you get a clearer view of the Space Needle, and learn about the speed with which it was built, and the fact that it is designed to survive an 9.1 magnitude earthquake. The Harbor Cruise has snacks and sandwiches available to buy on board, as well as a fully serviced bar with local beer, wine, specialty cocktails and soft drinks available for purchase. If you get off the bus at the 1st Ave and Marion Street stop, it's about a 5-minute walk to Pier 55. Walk half a block northwest to Madison Street, turn left on Madison and walk down towards the water until you reach Alaskan Way.

Argosy Cruises has been Seattle’s friend with a boat since 1949, offering narrated sightseeing cruises, private charters, and community events like the annual Christmas Ship™ Festival for over 70 years. We might be biased, but we think Seattle CityPASS® tickets are the best way to experience an Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour.

Argosy has put together a comprehensive resource explaining the accessibility and limitations of their vessels and facilities, and are happy to assist with any questions. With Seattle's famously inconsistent weather, you're never guaranteed a sunny day, even in the height of summer. However, the Seattle Harbor is dazzling any time of year and a bit of mist and fog can add some mystery and adventure to the experience, not to mention make you feel like a true Seattleite. With that said, it does get quite cold out on the water, so be sure to bundle up before you board during the winter months.
